Vij and Thottungal in one kitchen

Two of our country’s finest chefs and restaurateurs — one from western Canada but originally from North India, the other from eastern Canada, but raised in South India — are teaming up for a capital event. Chefs Vikram Vij (of Vancouver’s Vij’s Restaurant and Rangoli) and Joe Thottungal (of the Kerala restaurant Coconut Lagoon) will each cook three dishes in a six-course collaborative dinner on February’s final day. It’s in celebration of  Holi, the Hindu festival of spring, of colour, of love.

Which surely means winter will be kaput. I predict it will feel banished, in any event, with this food. I predict too, that tickets will go like wildfire. So call now. 613-742-4444.

Details: Wednesday, February 28th, 6PM; Coconut Lagoon, 853 St. Laurent Blvd.

Prix Fixe: $120 per person (with optional wine pairings, $40)

By reservation only, 613-742-4444
