How brilliant is this! The Great Canadian Theatre Company, in collaboration with Sheila Whyte of Thyme & Again and Michael Moffatt, executive chef of Beckta, play and gezellig, has been playing matchmaker with the six mainstage productions of its 2016-2017 season. For one night, and one night only, each show gets a chef. And not just any ol’ chef. Just look at that lineup! Not just any ol’ meal either. Each chef has been tasked with creating a prix fixe menu inspired by the play s/he’s popping into. As you might imagine, tickets are limited. Contact the GCTC for details. And get booking!
Here’s the line-up of pop-ups and their respective pairings:
Oct. 4 – Patrick Garland from ABSINTHE CAFE with The Gravitational Pull of Bernice Trimble by Beth Graham
Nov. 8 – Katie Brown Ardington from BECKTA DINING & WINE with The Last Wife by Kate Hennig
Dec. 6 – Marc Doiron from TOWN with The Daisy Theatre by Ronnie Burkett
Jan. 17 – Jon Svazas from FAUNA with Trudeau Stories by Brooke Johnson
Feb. 28 – Arup Jana from ALLIUM with Les Passants by Luc Moquin
April 18 – Marc Lepine from ATELIER with 1979 by Michael Healey
