Big congratulations to National Arts Centre Second Cook Jonathan Pratecante for taking the gold medal at Les Jeunes Chefs competition in the Outaouais, a competition held annually by the international association of gastronomy, La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, at Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute.
These awards recognize chefs in the 26U category.
According to his proud boss, Executive chef John Morris, these young chefs are required to prepare an appetizer, main course and dessert using a prescribed table of ingredients, and must complete their task within a specified time limit. The winner of each regional competition is then sent to compete at the Canadian and then international levels.
Which means Jonathan Pratecante will now participate in the national leg of the competition in October at George Brown College in Toronto.
We’ll stay tuned…
