I have been a faithful patron to Fresco’s bistro for the past 3 years and have never had a negative experience. I am a General manager with Moxie’s Classic Grill here in Ottawa and we like to refer Fresco’s as “our place”. All staff and management from all 3 Moxie’s locations have celebrated Birthday’s, Anniversary’s or just a night out on the town and have always left feeling better then when they arrived.

It is hard to define “Hospitality” because I beleive it is a feeling you get, not something that can be told or spoken…..Fresco’s gives me that warm compfortable “at home” feeling topped with the stylish,sophisticated/casual decor and atmosphere.

Perfect example on my visit there last night.

I called Fresco’s around 5pm and made a reservation for 2ppl at 8pm. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by 2 staff members with big smiles.
Mat who I had spoke to on the phone said ” Hi, you must be Betty?!” with an even bigger smile.
Wow! What a nice feeling for a complete stranger to know your name when you are NOT wearing a name tag. lol

We decided to sit at the bar for dinner and had such a good time we closed the place down!

The servers are knowledgable, friendy and very attentive. Thanks Mat, for a great evening.

Fresco’s Bistro “Italian Fusion” (as I have heard it discribed) is THE place to check out! You won’t regret it!

I’ve never been to Fresco Bistro Italiano, but Anne says herself she has been 4 times before reviewing. She visits restaurants a lot before reviewing to be fair. Even if she had a bad night with her son, that’s not what this review is based on…four looks, not a second look.

I will still visit to give it a try, when I am downtown after work…it always seems to be busy in there.

I have been a patron at this restaurant since I first moved to Ottawa in 2005. Over the years the restaurant has always been bustling with customers (as noted in this review) for a reason – they have consistently produced a pleasant dining experience at a reasonable price. I know that they just recently brought in a new chef and I hope that they get the opportunity to get a second look by the critic. It sounds to me like her and her son were having a bad night and it left a bad aftertaste in her mouth.

I have had nothing but great experiences at Frescos and hope that anyone that reads this article takes it with a grain of salt.
