Dear Anne,
Thank you for the great article in the Ottawa Citizen on Sunday May 25, 2008 Re: Fratelli Restaurant.
My husband and I had the very same experience. We live in the area (Rockcliffe Park) and decided to try the new location a few weeks after it first open.
We had the manager as the waitress. The food arrived and my husband's meal was warm on the outside and cold in the middle. When we had a chance to tell her about it her answer was "well if you would like I can put it back in the oven or re-heat it for you". We knew that could take several minutes (the place was full) therefore my husband told her that we would eat it this way but that perhaps she should let the kitchen know of this situation.
We decided to have coffee after the meal, we again had to tell her that the coffee was warm not hot, she did get us another cup and told us that she had just made it fresh. (Was the first one old?)
We did like the wine and dessert.
I was surprised that it was no big deal that the food was cold and the coffee warm, she didn't even offer to give us the coffee for free (on the house)!
We were so disappointed that we will never return.
Best regards,
Denyse Lalande
